How many guests can The Helm House® accommodate?
The home comfortably sleeps up to 7 overnight guests across three queen bedrooms, a rolling trundle, and a twin sleep sofa located on the 1st floor.
What is the minimum age to rent?
The primary renter must be 30 years or older. A valid driver’s license is required for verification.
Can I modify my reservation?
Yes, modifications are possible when availability allows. All changes must be requested before the cancellation deadline.
How does booking work?
We handle all reservations through our secure booking system, RezStream, to ensure a smooth and protected experience from start to finish. When you click “Check Availability” or “Book Now,” you’ll be directed to our booking portal where you can view real-time availability, select your dates, and complete your reservation.
All transactions are encrypted and your personal information is kept strictly confidential, so you can book with confidence. Once your reservation is confirmed, you’ll receive all the details you need for your stay, along with access to helpful information to start planning your time at Helm House.
What is your cancellation policy?
100% refund if cancelled 60 days or more before check-in
No refund if cancelled less than 60 days before check-in
Cleaning fees and security deposits are refunded if you never check in
Requests must be made by 11:59 PM EST to qualify within policy
What if my travel is impacted by weather or emergencies?
We recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect your plans, as standard cancellation terms still apply.
Can I transfer my reservation to someone else?
Reservation transfers are not guaranteed and must be approved in writing in advance.
How do I request a cancellation or change?
Please submit your request through the booking platform or contact us directly in writing for confirmation.

Is early check-in or late check-out available?
Sometimes, depending on availability. Additional fees may apply.
How do we access the home?
The property offers self check-in with a secure door keypad. Instructions are provided prior to arrival.
Are pets allowed?
No. Pets and animals are not permitted unless specifically authorized in your reservation.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking or vaping is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, including decks. Violations will result in loss of the security deposit and possible eviction.
Are events or parties allowed?
No events, parties, or additional overnight guests are permitted.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Children of all ages are welcome.
Can we decorate the house?
Balloons, posters, streamers, or signs may not be attached or displayed outside the home.
Is photography or filming allowed?
Personal photography is welcome. Commercial photography or filming requires written permission.
Is parking available?
Yes. Free driveway parking for up to 2 vehicles is included. Additional town parking may be available but could involve fees or time limits.
Is the home waterfront?
The Helm House® is nestled downtown, but on a private hill overlooking the entire harbor. We are directly across the street from the waterfront.
Are linens and towels provided?
Absolutely! Fresh linens, bath towels, The Original MakeUp Erasers®, and essential toiletries are included for every stay.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is provided throughout the home.
What are guests responsible for during their stay?
Guests are asked to maintain good housekeeping, respect neighbors, follow local ordinances, and care for our home as if it were their own.
What happens if something is damaged or missing?
Guests are financially responsible for damages or missing items. Security deposits are typically processed within 3 days after departure, pending inspection.
Can additional visitors stop by?
Only guests listed on the reservation are permitted on the property.
What happens during extreme weather or emergencies?
Government travel restrictions, declared emergencies, or natural disasters may impact travel. We recommend purchasing travel insurance for added protection.
